Miguel Tomás Gomes
UX Writer / Content Designer
Based in Lisbon, Portugal
I've always been drawn to how words can shape the way we think and act. That curiosity led me to Linguistics, where I spent years studying how language actually works.
When I started working in tech, I realized I'd found the perfect intersection: words and systems. I quickly learned that good writing in product design is about helping users succeed. I just wasn't sure how to measure that.
That's when I discovered the power of user research and statistical validation. Testing terminology with real users, measuring impact, and letting data guide decisions transformed my approach.
I believe in clear, concise, and impactful writing. In a field where everyone wants their writing to sound good, I focus on guiding users without them even realizing it.
Outside of work, I write about technology for Observador and Público, two of Portugal's leading newspapers. I also enjoy exploring Lisbon's neighborhoods with my analog film camera, looking for moments worth capturing.
